Strong Coffee Starts With the Bean — Not a Darker Roast

A lot of coffee gets its “strength” by simply roasting the beans darker and darker. That can make coffee taste intense — but it can also cover the natural flavor with smoke, harsh bitterness and burnt notes.

Mây starts with naturally bold Vietnamese coffee, so we don’t need to burn the beans just to make the cup taste strong. Real strength should come from the coffee itself.

02

Nothing added. Nothing to hide.

We don't add artificial flavors or flavoring to make our coffee taste better. The chocolate, caramel, honey, fruit and floral notes come naturally from the coffee itself — shaped by the bean, where it's grown, how it's processed and how it's roasted.

Robusta Gives You Strength Naturally

Vietnamese Robusta is naturally different from the Arabica used in most everyday American coffee. It has more body, a stronger coffee character and naturally higher caffeine, so it doesn’t need an extreme roast to feel bold.

That’s why a well-grown Robusta can give you the strength you’re looking for while still tasting smooth and balanced. More strength from the bean. Less strength from the roast.

04

So smooth, you may forget the sugar.

Most people add sugar or creamer to soften bitterness, sharpness or a burnt taste. Mây is roasted to bring out richness and natural sweetness without overwhelming the coffee — which is why many customers say they enjoy drinking it black for the first time.

05

Strong enough to stand up to milk

Coffee roasted too dark can become harsh and astringent with milk, while lighter-bodied coffee can simply disappear underneath it. Mây is different: its rich body, natural sweetness and bold coffee character stay clear while balancing beautifully with milk — especially condensed milk for a rich Vietnamese-style cup.

06

A better way to drink strong coffee every day

We designed Mây to give you more from every cup — naturally higher caffeine, deep chocolatey flavor, and a rich, smooth body that feels satisfying without being overwhelming. It’s bold enough to power your morning, yet balanced and enjoyable enough to become the coffee you look forward to every day.

Loved by People Who Love Strong Coffee

Many of our customers come to Mây for the same reason:

"They love bold coffee, but they’re tired of choosing between strong flavor and enjoyable flavor."

What keeps them coming back is the combination of rich body, deep flavor and a smooth finish — without the harsh burnt taste they expected from strong coffee

Real Reviews From Mây 1200 Coffee Drinkers

★★★★★

"Strong without that burnt taste."

I like my coffee bold, but most dark roasts are just too bitter for me. This is strong and full-bodied, but still really smooth.

★★★★★

“Way more flavor than I expected.”

I could actually taste the chocolate and sweetness instead of just “coffee.” Rich enough with milk, but smooth enough to drink black too.
Crystal H.
★★★★★

“This tastes like coffee I had in Vietnam.”

I’ve been trying to find that deep, rich Vietnamese coffee flavor in the U.S. for years. This is probably the closest I’ve found.
Brittany A.
★★★★★

“I stopped buying $6 coffee every morning.”

I started making this at home before work and honestly don’t miss the coffee shop. One bag lasts me weeks and my morning coffee tastes better.
Amanda C.
★★★★★

“Worth the upgrade from grocery store coffee.”

It costs a little more than the big bags I used to buy, but the difference in freshness and flavor is huge. I’d rather buy better coffee and actually enjoy it.
Chris P.
★★★★★

“Really good coffee without the crazy price.”

I’ve tried specialty beans that cost way more and didn’t enjoy them nearly as much. This feels like a really good middle ground between supermarket coffee and expensive specialty coffee.
Ryan M.
★★★★★

“One coffee, pretty much every way I brew.”

I use it for espresso during the week and my French press on weekends. It works great both ways !
Kevin L.
★★★★★

“Finally got me using my Phin again.”

I bought it for Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, but now I use the same beans for my Moka Pot too. Super easy and tastes great either way.
Michelle D.
★★★★★

"Great for espresso AND regular coffee.”

My husband uses it in the espresso machine and I usually make drip coffee. Somehow we both like the same bag, which almost never happens.
Lauren B.
★★★★★

“Strong coffee without needing a dark roast.”

I wanted more caffeine but didn’t want coffee that tasted burnt. The Robusta gives me the stronger morning kick I was looking for while still tasting smooth.
Jason W.
★★★★★

“Much easier on my stomach.”

I love coffee, but my old coffee would sometimes leave my stomach feeling uncomfortable. Since switching, I’ve noticed I can enjoy my morning cup much more comfortably.
Emily S.
★★★★★

“I can finally drink coffee every morning again.”

I had started cutting back because coffee was bothering my stomach. This has been noticeably smoother for me, and I’m back to enjoying a cup most mornings.

"I always thought strong coffee had to mean dark roast."

I love bold coffee, so I always reached for dark roasts. But they often left me with a headache, and the flavor was bitter, harsh, and burnt. When I switched to Mây 1200, I immediately noticed the difference — it was still deep and full-bodied, but smoother, with clear chocolate and caramel notes instead of that bitter bite. This is what I always wanted strong coffee to taste like.
